This thread is for all issues encountered during the beta. Small or large, we would to hear about any woes you encounter so we have an opportunity to fix it.
You can also start new threads, especially for bigger issues. But I think some people will be more comfortable listing stuff here, so I started this thread already.

Tried the app out during field work today while throwing at a fence. I had near constant issues where the voice said something about the camera not keeping up with the frame rate (didn't make sense to me) telling me to go lower. 60fps didn't work at all, black and 120 didn't work either but I could at least see the camera being on. 240 I did get some captures but I had to go back and forth restarting capture pretty much all the time. I got 5 captures in total in probably 20-30 minutes.
Speed reads where overinflated as I was using RipReader on my other phone at the same time. Not entirely sure how accurate that one is but I do know I don't throw 124km/h that DiscLab measured.
Disc picker from the camera was a bit wonky, usually I thought it acceptable since I had 3 yellow discs but it mixed up a bright pink disc for a yellow once.
Seems like a neat app if you get the kinks worked out, because it has quite a long ways to go based on my initial test. A month seems ambitious for launch and charging money for it.
Hi, thank you for the feedback. Sounds like performance issues. If the framerate goes very low, then the analysis results are also going to be less accurate, so that might not be super concerning yet.
Any chance you could upload some of those throws through the app? Along with your estimate of how fast you were actually throwing. No need to share the links (unless you want to), just uploading is enough.
Performance work is always ongoing, so I would expect it gets better over time. But we also don't have Xiaomi phones to test with at the moment. This was on Poco X8 Pro Max, right?
I'm having issues with the app constantly freezing and crashing. Can't click for more than a few seconds before locking up.

Hi, when did you download/update the app from Play store?
We did a new release last evening, with some targeted fixes for S series Samsung phones.
In general, Android is quite tricky platform to develop for. Because we have 4 different phones to test with, but apparently, it's not nearly enough coverage to guarantee that the app runs smoothly on wide variety of phones.
So either we limit the release to just the models that we can guarantee work well and accept that a lot of Android users will be excluded, or we just release it for everybody and try to work through the issues as they come up. So far we're trying to release it to everybody at the same time, but we'll have to see if that is actually realistic.
Just a heads up, we pushed another round of Android performance optimizations. This should be labeled version 5 in the Play Store. And more is coming soon. I'm hopeful we can fix all these issues pretty soon.

Tomorrow we are doing a big update on the accuracy of the "show a disc" feature. It will be more responsive and more consistently pick out the disc you are trying to show. There will also be more general performance improvements as usual.
In other news, I saw from the backend that more testers had speed readings that are almost definitely inflated. Please, if you can, upload such throws through the upload function in the app :) It will really help with investigating how this happens. Altho, it's probably just something to do with how the phone reports the camera focal length.
What android/samsung version are you testing on?
Downloaded new uodate, but still locking up and crashing within 15 seconds
So far, I believe the app has been really good. Love the nose angle feature so much, mine was so bad haha. Only thing I am still messing with is the lighting for my speed. Sometimes I feel my speed is good, but other times I know it is a misreading due to having tested my speed consistently for around 4 months. I don’t think it is really the apps fault, but my lack of lighting in my basement. Will definitely update in the future how my attempts at fixing the lighting are. Thanks for the app!
Not sure about all the Android versions we've tested with. I think most of the phones are pretty up to date, with Android 17 or 16.
We've tested with Samsung A54 and Xcover7 pro
Glad to hear you've had good experience with the app :)
I discovered one iOS specific bug in the speed analysis, which was fixed on Friday. So at least some of your anomalous readings were probably from before that.
Analysis accuracy in poor lighting conditions is definitely one of the big long term goals. And I'd say it's somewhat working already. But in the end it'll always depend a lot on the specific phone camera sensor.
I updated to the latest app version today, and now my app won't open. It black screens and returns to home every time I try to open it. Samsung Galaxy S23U
Yeah, sorry, we had a bad update last evening.
There has been some troubles with our GPU shaders and the Samsung / Qualcomm chips.
And trying to fix this, there was a new bug that only affects the Play store release, and was not caught in our testing. So the current Play store release is broken.
I'm hopeful it will be sorted out today.
There is a new Android version out again. Still having more issues with the Samsung GPU drivers. So it might take a day or two to fully figure it all out.
But this should at least fix the black screen, and it has a chance of working on S22, S23, S24.
More Android fixes will be coming probably every day this week.
Looks like this last version doesn't crash! Can't wait to give it a try!
Great app!
Hi, yes there has been quite bit of progress with the Samsung support. We'll keep making improvements. But let me know how it goes!
Recently, the feedback from the Android version has been pretty good. But it's mostly from Pixel phone users.
